These terms are the agreement between you and Ofir Ozon for the use of the Smidge app. Please read the safety section: it is the part that matters most, and it is first for that reason.
Smidge is educational training content. It is not veterinary care, not a medical service, and not behavioural treatment. Nothing in it diagnoses anything.
Biting, guarding food or objects, reactivity to dogs or people, and distress at being left alone are not training problems with app-sized answers. They need a certified professional who can see your dog. Smidge routes you to one instead of teaching those, that routing is free forever, and it does not unlock later.
A dog that is in pain, suddenly different, or unwell sees a vet first. Training on top of an undiagnosed physical problem makes both worse, and a sudden change in behaviour is a medical question until a vet says otherwise.
Every method here is reward-based and follows LIMA and the Humane Hierarchy. Nothing in this app asks you to frighten, hurt, startle or physically force a dog, and no lesson puts your hands on a dog to make a behaviour happen. If something you read here seems to, stop and report it.
You are responsible for your dog: for supervising them, for keeping them and the people and animals around them safe, and for deciding whether a given exercise suits the dog in front of you. You know your dog and this app does not.
Stop any exercise that causes pain, fear or distress, and check with a vet before training a dog that is very young, elderly, pregnant, recovering, or has a known joint, heart or breathing condition. Some lessons carry their own gate for exactly this reason.
Children should only train with a dog under adult supervision.
Results vary. Dogs are individuals, and nothing here is a guarantee that a particular dog will learn a particular thing in a particular time.
By installing or using Smidge you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
You must be at least 16 years old to use Smidge, and you must be the person responsible for the dog you are training or have that person’s permission.
You decide whether an exercise is appropriate for your dog, and you remain responsible for your dog’s behaviour and welfare at all times, including toward other people and animals.
You agree to follow the safety routing in the app: where Smidge tells you a situation needs a certified professional or a vet, it is declining to help for a reason, and working around it is not a supported use of the app.
You agree not to use the training content to frighten, hurt, punish or physically force a dog.
The app is free to download. Sit, Down, Leave it, Paw, Name and Come are free to use permanently, and so is the safety routing that sends you to a certified professional. None of that is a trial and none of it expires.
Everything else is opened by one subscription, billed monthly. There is no annual plan, no lifetime purchase and no free trial: the free skills above are not a countdown to a charge, so there is nothing to forget to cancel. The price and what it includes are shown in full before you buy, with no countdown timers, nothing pre-selected and nothing pre-ticked.
Purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account. The subscription renews automatically each month unless you turn renewal off at least 24 hours before the period ends, which you do in your App Store account settings rather than here. We cannot cancel an Apple subscription on your behalf, and deleting your data in the app does not cancel one either.
Refunds are handled by Apple under their terms. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at smidgedogtrain@gmail.com and we will help you take it up with them.
The lessons, text, artwork and animations in Smidge belong to Ofir Ozon and are licensed to you for your own personal use with your own dogs.
You may not copy, republish, resell or redistribute the content, or use it to build a competing product or to train a machine-learning model.
Every animation in the app is generated artwork. No footage of a real dog is used anywhere in it.
Smidge is provided as it is. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we may stop supporting older versions of the app or of iOS.
The app runs on your phone and keeps working offline. Your training history lives on your device, so keeping it is in your hands: we cannot restore it if the phone is lost or the app is deleted, and the privacy policy explains why in more detail.
Smidge is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that any particular dog will learn any particular behaviour, or that the app is free of errors.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Ofir Ozon is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any injury, damage or loss arising from your use of the training content, from your dog’s behaviour, or from anything done or not done in reliance on the app.
Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
You can stop using Smidge at any time by deleting the app, and you can ask us to delete the stored copy of your data as described in the privacy policy.
We may end your access if you use the app in a way that breaks these terms or that puts an animal or a person at risk.
If these terms change materially, the new version ships inside the app with a new date at the top and is called out in the release notes. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the change.
These terms are governed by the laws of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of Israel have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the consumer-protection law of your own country of residence gives you the right to bring a claim there.
